Supporting People with Learning Disabilities.
Our Community Support Service helps support our clients through personal development, life skills training and confidence building to develop and promote an awareness of individual ability and self achievement.
We have strong links with a number of organisations across the city of Plymouth and work closely with them to provide a holistic approach to supporting individuals to achieve their maximum potential.
The Community Support Service is based on the main Plymouth Highbury Trust site at: Plymouth Highbury Trust, 207 Outland Rd, Plymouth PL2 3PF
Our mission is to ensure that individuals with different abilities and support needs have the opportunity to live their lives to the full.
We are committed to the improving the lives of the individuals we support. We achieve this through person-centred approaches, which place the individual at the centre of all activity.
The facilities, resources and services we provide are responsive, relevant and accessible to all individuals access them.
We aim to build a number of skill sets for our clients. These include:

The Highbury Community Support Service can support you to:
- Develop communication skills and social awareness
- Develop and maintain meaningful relationships
- Access public transport
- Develop skills for independent living including: budgeting, shopping, planning, cooking and domestic skills
- Access learning and volunteer opportunities
- Take part in leisure activities
- Increase community presence
- Access local community facilities
- Develop individual skills based programmes
- Access are New Sensory Room
We have capacity to support 25 to 30 full sessions a week.
We have 1 fully accessible minibuses and 1 Adapter Car for accessing community based activities.
Our Support team consists of trained and qualified Resource support workers, a Team Leader and a Service manager. We have full admin support and close links to PSL enabling services and advocacy services.
The service operates during weekdays between 9:30 and 3:30.
We support adults with additional needs who are aged 18 and over.
You can access our services if you receive a personal budget, direct payment or Commissioning Service. You can also pay privately.
Placement costs are:
£29.58 per half day
£59.16 per day
