Volunteering

OUR VOLUNTEERS MAKE WHAT WE DO POSSIBLE

Whether supporting a parent at meetings about their children, helping with the delivery of our domestic abuse awareness course or doing some essential admin in the office, our volunteers are crucial to the work we do and make a huge difference to parents and women with a learning disability.

All you need to become a volunteer with us is have the desire to help others, especially those who are vulnerable or may struggle to have their voice heard. You will need to be empathetic and non-judgmental with a compassionate approach.

We have a range of opportunities to suit the timeframe you can offer and provide the training and support you will need for whichever volunteer role you would like to go for.

However you wish to volunteer, you will be part of a supportive team who come together to help people with a learning disability who are often isolated and struggle to access the support they deserve.

You will also;

  • Receive training, supervision & development.
  • Gain interpersonal communication skills.
  • Gain an insightful experience within a social care setting.
  • Make a real difference to someone’s life.
  • Gain teamwork skills with an amazing team!
  • As well as planning & organization skills, problem solving skills and positive attributes.

"Volunteering gives me the opportunity to connect with people & gives a sense of belonging to my community in a mutually beneficial way."
